Top 5 L Squared Hub Features to Not Miss Out On

If you’ve landed on this blog, chances are you’re curious about how to make the most of the L Squared Hub.

And we don’t blame you - with the vast array of features on the Hub, missing out on a few is not uncommon.

But we don’t want you to miss out on the L Squared Hub’s full potential for seamless digital communication.

So, we’ve compiled a list of the top five features to make managing your content as simple as ever. Read ahead to learn what they are!

1. New Feature Request

The ‘New Feature Request’ allows customers like you to request a new feature on the platform. This could be any feature to help you reach your goals on the L Squared Hub.

As a general SOP (Standard Operating Procedure), L Squared rolls out one major feature and about four minor ones yearly.

What’s interesting about this functionality is that customers have complete visibility of all requests made by other customers. This way, a popular favorite can be ‘Upvoted’. The more the number of votes, the higher the priority for development.

How to use 'New Feature Request' on the Hub?

  • Begin by logging in to the platform with your credentials.
  • Navigate to your profile name. Once you click on it, a drop-down menu will appear. Select the ‘Support Center’ option, followed by ‘Request New Feature’.
  • You will see three tabs appear before you. Click on the second one, called ‘Request New Feature.’
  • You will see a green button on the top-right corner called ‘+ Add New Feature Request’. Once you click on it, you can add the feature title and description you want.
  • Once you’re done, click ‘Submit’ and our support team will get your request in their inbox!

 

2. Content on Demand 

Imagine having your own personalized corporate Netflix at work, where you can stream in-house content anytime.

The ‘Content on Demand’ feature on L Squared allows you to do just this!

It is a one-stop shop of all your corporate media, stored in a Netflix-like interface. Content on Demand allows you to switch from your regular, scheduled content to stream content from your on-demand library. Once you’re done, you can switch back to your scheduled content seamlessly.

And it’s not hard to use at all. You can access it with the click of a TV remote or tap on a touchscreen!

How to use ‘Content on Demand’?

  • To begin, log in to the L Squared Hub. Once you’re signed in, navigate to ‘Content Library’.
  • Click on ‘Add New Content’ at the top left-hand corner.
  • Then proceed to the ‘Create Widget’ tab on the top. On the left-hand side, you’ll see the ‘Search bar’. Here, type in ‘Content on Demand’ or scroll down till you locate it.
  • Name your widget in the text box and go to ‘Next: Categories’.
  • Create a category and select the content you wish to add to your library. Click on ‘Save’ to proceed.
  • Now, to schedule your content, click on the widget you created and schedule it.
  • Name your new schedule, set its group and priority, and make sure it’s set to ‘Content on Demand’ type.
  • Finally, select your target device and save your schedule.

2. Emergency Messaging

Picture this. There’s an emergency at your workplace, and you need to issue urgent safety instructions ASAP.

You look around, and all your displays are streaming their regular, scheduled content. You wonder if there’s a way to override this content immediately with the emergency messaging you need to share.

Good news: The ‘Emergency Messaging’ on L Squared lets you do just this!

This digital signage feature allows you to send important messages immediately to the desired screens, anytime and anywhere. This means that your scheduled content will stop playing, and your emergency message will display on the whole screen.

How to use 'Emergency Messaging' on the platform?

  • Begin by logging in to the L Squared Hub using your credentials.
  • Navigate to the left-hand panel and locate the ‘Emergency Messaging’ tab towards the bottom.
  • You will see three tabs in front of your screen.
  • The ‘Send messages’ option allows you to draft a new emergency message or select a predefined option.

  • To customize your message, go to ‘Custom Message’ and draft your message.
  • If you want to select a predefined message, click on ‘Select predefined message’ and choose any one.
  • You can also choose how long you want your message to stream from the ‘Duration’ option.

  • When you’re done, click on ‘Send’ and that's it!

4. Live Streaming

One of the unique capabilities of the L Squared Hub is its ability to connect with 100s of apps. Using Widgets, you can exponentially increase the Hub’s potential to manage and share content. 

One such widget in the Hub is Live Streaming. With this feature, you can livestream your corporate events, launches, conferences and more. This way, you can improve digital communication for your business by sharing real-time updates on ongoing activities and events with your employees and customers.

How to access ‘Live Streaming’ on L Squared?

  1. As always, begin by logging in. Once you’re on the platform, navigate to ‘Content Library’.
  2. Click on ‘Add New Content’ and proceed to select ‘Create Widget’.
  3. On the left-hand corner, type in ‘Live Streaming’ on the search box or scroll down the list till you locate it.
  4. Now, you can name your Live Stream and select your streaming type as HLS, HTTPS, or YouTube.
  5. Now, you can add the link to the video you want to stream on the ‘Streaming URL’ box.
  6. You can also make custom changes to your background and text style from the ‘Settings’ option.
  7. Finally, select the ‘Permission’ type — ‘Public’ or ‘Custom’ to set viewer permission.
  8. Once this is done, click on ‘Save’ and you’re good to go!

5. Scheduling Wizard

The ‘Schedules’ tab on the L Squared Hub is an essential feature that allows you to manage content on your screens efficiently. It allows you to schedule content in advance so that you never miss an upload!  

This feature makes it easy for content administrators to strategize and plan content according to the organization’s needs.

Now, let’s see how you can launch the Scheduling Wizard. 

How to launch the ‘Scheduling Wizard’ on L Squared?

  • Once you’re logged in, navigate to the ‘Schedules’ tab and click on ‘Create New Schedule’  to launch the scheduling wizard.
  • A text box will open, allowing you to name your schedule and allocate relevant user permissions. Click 'Next' to proceed.
  • In the subsequent step, you can specify the display schedule for your content. Options include daily, weekly, monthly, or customizable cycles. After making your choices, click 'Next.'
  • Choose the content you wish to include in your schedule. A window on the right will showcase your selected content, allowing you to arrange the order and determine the duration for each piece. When you’re done, proceed by clicking 'Next.'
  • Determine the devices on which you want to schedule your content. Options include selecting individual devices, predefined groups, or using tags.
  • In the final step, select the frame layout for how you want your content to appear. Upon making your choice, click "Save," and your schedule is now set up!
